Science theatre is a mixture of the aesthetic and sensuous forms of communication of the lecture and the theater.
Science theatre communicates scientific findings and knowledge to a broad target group.
Performances are designed and produced on the basis of knowledge from scientific research. They are created in a close collaboration between the scientists and the artists who participate in the performance. The form is visual, musical and sensuous.
Science theatre is based on the idea that it is easier to acquire knowledge when it is presented so as to address both body and soul. The form chosen is linked to types of knowledge, cognitive thinking and emotional intelligence. The production of stage communication and learning situations take into account the whole person. The communication situation gives the target group the opportunity to ask questions concerning the scientific content either in connection with passages that are open for questions during the performance or in the subsequent discussion. Included in the performance is what we call ”the corridor”, a staging of an informal space for dialogue and reflection.
